Good morning,
The question came up in the UserGroup meeting about how to report a suspension then expulsion where the expulsion would be in the next school year.

Here is ODE's reply to a ticket on that .  00150734

Only report the suspension in FY23. In FY24, report the expulsion per the new for FY24 expulsion reporting guidance.

For a student that had an incident on the last day of school but the discipline would not be till the next school year

Per the EMIS Manual, "the last building in a district where the student was enrolled, and where the discipline action was administered, is responsible for reporting the Student Discipline (GD) Record." The key there is "where the discipline action was administered"...so, the school district would not report the discipline action until it is served, which would be in FY24. They should remove the GD record for this incident from their FY23 data, and add it to the FY24 data once that begins.
