Good morning!
I wanted to let you all know what is going on. I am doing great!! I will be off again today and will most likely work from home next week but may be in later in the week.
Wednesday when I was leaving work, I got part way to the front door, and I could not catch my breath. I felt like a ran a marathon in 5 minutes and could not breathe. I went back into Kelly’s office -she was the only one left in the building sat down to try and catch my breath, did not have much success. I called Jim and he came, picked me up and we went to the ER. After multiple tests EKG, Check X-ray all negative they did and CT scan and found a blood clot in each of my lungs -☹. They immediately started me on heparin to start thinning my blood. They transferred me to Springfield Regional , and kept up with the heparin, After MULTPLE tests and feeling like a pin cushion… Found out I have a hiatal hernia, and an aneurism on my renal artery. Both of which after talking to the Thoracic Surgeon are not an issue right now and could have been there for 20 years, no real way to tell. Unless I have issues, it is just a keep an eye on this. So, so far so good. Then Thursday morning (2:00 am) they did an ultrasound on my legs to look for any blood clots. Came back negative. Still good! Thursday late afternoon they did an Echo to make sure that there was no strain on the right side of the heart-again negative.
So other than the clots in the lungs which they assured us that the body will take care of dissolving them and looking and feeling like a pin cushion, there does not appear to be any other issues. I will be on blood thinners for quite some time, but I can handle that. They really have no idea where the clots started from. That is kina scary.
It sure feels good to be able to walk and breathe at the same time now!!!
Thanks for all the well wishes and prayers. They WORKED!!
I will be catching up on some emails and tickets throughout the day. I will look for another day for the Grad Training and get some information out on the SWH and electives next week!
Thanks again you are the most amazing people to work with. I love you all!!
K
