Good morning!
As many of you are aware, Frontline has been working to implement multifactor authentication for users of the ProgressBook Suite. They are now in the process of rolling out Frontline Platform as a way to address this. Below you will see a high-level overview of “Frontline Platform,” and how MVECA will work with you to get your district migrated. Your local end-users are soon going to be receiving information on this upgrade, so we wanted district technology staff to get a jump on this in case you receive any queries. Please don’t hesitate to let us know if you have any immediate questions after reviewing the information below.

Why Frontline Platform?
* Allows for MFA
* Offers more modern security in the Suite
* A single Passport account is used to access not only the ProgressBook Suite, but other Frontline applications that may be in use in each district, as they are added to Platform – School Health Management, Data Analytics, Forecast5, HRMS, etc.
* Empowers end-users with self-service account management – password resets, Passport merges
* Passport users can see multiple districts across multiple ITCs with one account, once all are using Platform and the proper security is in place
Creating Frontline Passport Accounts
* All current Suite users will go through a migration process
* Migration windows – flexibility offered to districts
* MVECA will work with each district individually to determine when their user account migrations will start and end
* Start and end dates can be weeks apart, giving users plenty of time to work around their schedules
* Migration start date – users will begin receiving a message upon login to the Suite, asking if they would like to create their new Passport account
* Users will not be required to create the Passport account at this time, and will be able to skip this until they reach the migration end date
* If the user chooses to migrate their current account, they will follow onscreen prompts that guide them through this process
* If the user chooses not to create the Passport account, they will see a countdown telling them when the account must be created

* Migration end date – users will not be able to login without creating the new Passport account
* Once the Passport account has been created, the user will set up MFA, choosing either SMS authentication or email authentication
* Passport users will go to https://login.k12.frontlineeducation.com/ to access the Suite; if they try to login through the current URLs, they will be automatically redirected
Existing User Security
* Existing security settings in ProgressBook apps will not change after migration
* PB Suite access will be handled in SI for roles, resource permissions and job functions
New User Account Setup
* User account is created in Platform and user is associated with appropriate products (GradeBook, StudentInformation, etc.)

* User account is automatically created in SI

* End user receives an invitation to create the Passport account
* All security is handled in SI for the new account
At this time, MVECA is in the process of putting the backbone in place that will allow our environment to mesh with Frontline Platform. Once we have all the pieces in place, we will send out a notification that we are ready to begin working with individual districts. We know this is a busy time of year for all of you, and there is really no “good” time to get this going; however, please be thinking about timelines that will work for you.
