Good Afternoon!

I have the information needed to report the KG calendars correctly...

You will need to know what date your district is using for their Kindergarten cut off date

IF the cut-off date is the same date as the district start date you will report the first day of school on the KG sub-calendar as the district start date

Example:  Cut-off date is 8/13 for KG students to be 5 in order to enroll and the district starts school on 8/13 the sub-calendar start date for KG will be 8/13.  If your KG students are not expected to be in attendance until 8/18/26 when 26.1 is released later this fall you will then go in and report an exception for the dates of 8/13/26, 8/14/26, and 8/17/26.  The exception is not available now but when it is you will select Kindergarten Staggered Start and report the hours of 0.00 for those  days that the students are not in attendance.

If the cut-off date is 8/18/26 for KG students and the district start date is 8/13/26 you will use the date of 8/18/26 on the KG sub calendar as the start date.

If you have KG students staggering on this as well you will report the students coming on 8/18 with an emis exception of staggered start on 8/19/ with 0.00 hours and the students that start on 8/19 you will report the exception of 0.00 hours for the date of 8/18

The start date of your Kindergarten sub-calendar is allowing ODEW to know the Kindergarten cut-off date for your district.  Then the EMIS exception of Kindergarten Staggered start is allowing your building calendar hours  to be correct for the students.
