The EMIS Coordinator at Indian Lake Local (048082) is needing further explanation of the question from the 9/18/2023 ODE ITC Call Notes. It is the next to the last question in the Q&A section. The question was: 'Regarding Electives, Subject Area, CORE Area
- we are trying to get information out to districts on the difference between these. The GC record (Subject Area) and CORE Area are coming from different areas, but districts are having a hard time figuring out if the Subject Area and CORE Area are always
the same (match each other)?<br>

</span><span style="font-family:Roboto;color:red">The Subject Area for Credit on the Course Master Record and the Core Area on the Graduation--Core Summary Record are often the same. They do not, however, have to be. And indeed they aren't always. There are
cases where students are getting credit in multiple areas for one course. For example, students could be taking a 1 credit course for which they awarded 1/2 credit in Financial Literacy and 1/2 credit in Business. Or it could be that some students in a course
are getting credit for an advanced science course and other students in the same class already have their advanced credits so are getting "regular" science credit instead. In such cases, what is on the Course Master for Subject Area for Credit will differ
from what is on the Graduation--Core Summary Record for Core Area.<br>
