EMIS Newsflash – February 25, 2016

Contents:
· FY16 HQT Reports
· FY15 Fall KRA Appeals Window Extended to Monday, February 29, 2016

FY16 HQT Reports
The first set of FY16 HQT reports have been released and are available through the Data Collector. We anticipate the reports will be updated twice a week through the end of the collection request.

We have not yet implemented an FY2016 EMIS Change that requires a teacher to be validly certified in EMIS to be HQT, regardless of the HQT status reported by the LEA. When that change is implemented, there may be instances where the HQT status of a course may change without a change in HQT reporting by the district. If the certification issue is resolved prior to the close of the collection request, the HQT status will update to reflect what is being reported.

FY15 Fall KRA Appeals Window Extended to Monday, February 29, 2016
Through the “FY15 Fall Early Learning Assessment Collection”, available through Jan. 22, 2016, districts reported FY15 Fall Kindergarten Readiness Assessment (KRA) results. District superintendents can access and review FY15 Fall KRA reports in the Collaboration Center by following the directions posted here<http://education.ohio.gov/getattachment/Topics/Early-Learning/Guidance-About-Kindergarten/Ohios-Kindergarten-Readiness-Assessment/indergarten-Readiness-Assessment-for-Data-Managers/Directions-for-KRA-data-on-SAFE.pdf.aspx>.

In cases where districts know additional corrections are needed for the FY15 Fall KRA data, superintendents may alert the department to the reporting concern and request an opportunity to make corrections through the department’s formal data appeals process. The FY15 Fall KRA Data Appeals Window opened last Friday, February 19, 2016. In response to district feedback, the department is extending the window through Monday, February 29, 2016,

View more information about data appeals windows, timelines and the completion process on the department’s website here<http://education.ohio.gov/Topics/Data/EMIS/Reporting-Responsibilities/Data-Appeals>.
