New FY18 Changes

62015-There is a change in how ECE students are reported.
Previously any student in an ECE classroom was reported with a how received of E whether they were just in the classroom or had an actual slot for the ECE grant.
There is a need to know specifically which students are part of the grant as opposed to the students that are not part of the grant.
You will now need to use the how received code of E just for the students that are part of the ECE grant. For students that are not part of the grant you will need to code the with an * or
with a how received of how they actually came to you. ESC's would report the H if they are not using the E. There will not be any new codes. When you make your changes you have the choice add a new record to change as of the date that you are making the change, or ODE's preference is to take it back to the beginning of the school year to make the change. There will be a gen issues check to verify these students.
62014-How received code X
This is typically used by the JVSDs. Traditional district will now be able to use the how received of X-Direct enroll for Scholarship students-Jon Peterson-Autism- for students that are on the Scholarship that wish to access Career Tech. These students may come to a district (only a handful right not) for Career tech. If so you would report a how received of X.
61717- Update Reporting Instructions for Discipline Reason Element- Clarification
In the SDC only the first discipline reason is listed. The primary reason for the disciple should be the main reason for the discipline. There could be several things that apply to the discipline event. The tweak to the definition will be that the primary reason that is listed.
60939- Student Course - Only report course credit on last record.
Students with multiple records for the same course are showing credits for each entry. Credit should not be duplicated and should only show on the final record for that course. This information will be given to the Software Developers. As users we do not have any control how DASL send the data over.
58489 - Add other World Language code-06999
This will be used by districts that offer a foreign language that ODE does not have a code for. It will also be a code that will not require licensure. It will specifically say that it cannot be used for any language code that already exists or for one that licensure exists for.
Updates on Existing changes
The first 3 changes have been withdrawn for the FY18 school year. The 4th entry is a list of new CTE course codes for this yea.

Principal years of experience
The following is a draft of what ODE anticipates as the reporting instructions for Principal years of experience.
1. Principal is one that serves as an instructional leader-evaluates staff-performs duties of at least 2 of the 5 principal standards.
2. School year where the person has been evaluated as a principal counts as a year of experience
3. Years of experience as a teacher does not count as years for a principal
4. Years as an assistant principal DO count
5. Principals and assistant Principal in other states DO count
6. Years of Military service DO NOT count
7. Types of Organizations that count
a. Yes for Public schools
b. Yes for Stem Schools
c. Yes for State supported schools
d. Yes for ODE licensed PRE schools
e. Yes for Charter Schools
f. No for Non-ODE preschools
g. No for Non-Charter Non Public schools
8. Only reported for current Principals
ITC EMIS Call
Invalid Cert report
Now called the Teacher Licensure Course Status Report is now in the Data Collector under Level 2 reports.
It includes the HQT and Licensure information in 1 report
It will be updated nighty- although it did not update over the weekend. It should have appeared yesterday afternoon.
If you have not submitted the Staff L collection you should be doing so as soon as possible.
FY18 Preschool Data
ODE is getting close to using the live PS data for FY18 funding. They will be pulling live data for the December #2 payment.
Reports were sent to ITC and the Area Coordinators.. I forwarded out the spreadsheet out last Friday. It was confirmed by ODE that if you are an ESC that has payments transferred to
you for PS you would have an entry on the report. If you do not have funds transferred you will not appear on the report.
ODE will be sending an updated file, possibly this week, if not this week for sure next week.

There will be an announcement going out in the Ed Connection about districts needing to develop a plan so Superintendents will be looking for that report.
This is not an EMIS coordinator responsibility other than getting the report to the Superintendent.
Grad Reports
These reports for future school years cohorts have not been updated yet.
