[Mail_emis] HB410 Compliance - Temporary Solution

Good morning!
The MVECA student team understands the need for immediate HB410 compliance and has created a temporary solution to assist schools using ProgressBook while software developers hurry to make the necessary changes to SIS software.  This solution is detailed on our website at http://www.mveca.org/StudentInformation.aspx under "MVECA Attendance Workaround."  As indicated repeatedly by our support team, this "workaround" is NOT a requirement but rather a tool to assist our districts in finding students who are currently crossing the HB410 thresholds.  It is important that implementers of this temporary solution understand the details associated with the solution and the triggers that generate attendance letters so that any false positives are identified.  Please read the documentation carefully.
While we do expect a software update soon, immediate compliance with HB410 was something many of our districts identified as a critical need.  Because ODE has stated that schools will be required to report on HB410 compliance from the beginning of the school year, to include demonstrating adherence to the seven-day notification period and intervention requirements, MVECA determined that waiting for software updates was simply not an option.
