ODDEX
Added final status of a student from the year before back to 2015. They are still having a little issue with the 2019 but most have been loaded.
Could come across a situation where there is no data and not likely to have data. ODE is sending the SSDT information on the Final SSID that is reported, so if there has been a change during the year that you will not see info on the pre SSID change student, but it will appear on the post
SSID record.
CCP- Loading data more frequently . There was a communication about the 45 day window opening. It was referring to new data loaded. Data loaded in in December and March have timed out for review. If you see something on a record that is past the 45 day window that needs to be
fixed for funding purposes, instead of putting a flag on it you can escalate the record. If you escalate ODE will look at the record to see what should be changed.
With the last release ODE is publishing a section on who is responsible for paying for the course. When a record is flagged, it is not showing live data. As a general rule anything that a district adds on a day, will not appear in the payment responsibility table till the next day and possible 2 days
out. If you approve a course you will not see it updated in the responsibility section till it has been processed.
ODE is working on new reports coming out that we should see in the Fall.
OH|ID- ODDEX
Almost there for the log in for OH|ID for ODDEX. Goal is to go live this week. When they go live it will be a soft launch. There will not be an announcement when it is enabled. If you log into OH|ID and the tile is there, you can go directly to ODDEX. During the soft launch the
SAFE ID log in will continue to work. There will be at least a week with both options available. About a week or two later you will be pushed to use the OH|ID. If you have not set up your OH|ID set up please do so ASAP.
FYI -Superintendents have access to ODDEX and this will appear as one of their apps when it is in OH|ID.
GIFTED- ACT/SAT
There is a lot of confusion around the screening when taking the ACT or SAT and Identifying students as Gifted from the ACT/SAT
The question came up-do community school report the ACT/SAT scores as screened for Gifted.
Ticket 3000759 at OE says the following.
According to the Section 2.10 of the FY19 version of the EMIS Manual, in the second paragraph on Page 3 of 13 under the "General Guidelines" heading, it states the following: "Though community schools are not required to screen, assess, identify, and/or serve students who are gifted, they are required to report a Student Gifted Education (GG) Record for each student."
For community schools that do not provide gifted services, a Student Gifted Education (GG) Record will need to be submitted for each student, however all columns where the options are "Y" or "N" would simply be left to default to "N". Additionally, the date columns (for date of identification) would be left empty. As such, there would be no need to report students who took the ACT or the SAT as screened, assessed, or identified.
However, for community schools that do provide gifted services, they must screen, assess, and identify students, and report them appropriately on the Student Gifted Education (GG) Record. When this is the case, then yes, the results of the ACT and SAT would come into play here as follows, as described by ODE's
For Identification the same ticket gave this information
The ACT/SAT is available for identification of students who are gifted in grades 6-12 until June 30, 2019 since it is on the 2017-18 chart of approved assessments. Make sure you use the conversion chart for above grade level scores for the ACT in the Specific Ability section of the 2017-18 Chart of Approved Assessments for grades 6-9.
After June 30, 2019 the ACT/SAT is only approved for gifted identification at grades 11-12. The list of Approved Assessments for 2019-2020 has vendor information forms for each of the assessments listed. The boxes marked for Gifted Identification have guidance on gifted identification.
David indicated in the call that it is only required that the 11th grade testing be reported. You can and probably should report all other ACT/SAT scores.
DATA COLLETOR
We should have the new version of the Data Collector by the end of the month. There is very little that will affect the data collections and submissions it is all about reports and messaging.
MISSING LISTS
I have been checking ODE tickets about the missing lists and how to deal with them. I will be putting out an email once I get all the tickets organized.
Let me know if you have any questions.
