If it is a problem I would never allow IEP or MFE meetings to take place anyplace other than our district with our district representative present.
The IEP would not be valid without home district signature and approval so you hold all the cards.

Subject: Non-Public
Dear Superintendent,
In the last three years, the number of referrals for child find and scholarships has ballooned out of control and have taken up a lot of our time especially with the limited number of personnel. It would probably be safe to say that proportionally, we are spending as much or more time with our non-public as we are our own students (~1600). Like everyone else, we are currently working with our Non-public with scholarships, IEP renewal, ETRs, etc. The non-public wants the teacher to participate in the IEPs/ETRs but it has proven difficult. They also want the meetings to take place at their location which is difficult because we are responsible for providing a full team. What are some strategies or protocols you are using to address district of residence responsibilities yet at the same time to build bridges with the non-public?
I appreciate your time.
Sincerely,
Karen
