*Qualifications:*
The qualities and characteristics desired for the leader who will assume
the superintendency of the McDonald Local School District are, in part
identified, below. The Superintendent will:

   - Possess the ability to articulate a vision for the school district and
   to lead the district in strategic planning.
   - Demonstrate a commitment to professional development and life-long
   learning.
   - Possess strong interpersonal skills including a personal style of
   visibility, accessibility and friendliness.
   - Demonstrate a sincere interest in the community along with the ability
   to inspire community confidence in the school system.
   - Persuade others to share a vision-mission for the school district
   including building commitments and motivating others to work toward defined
   goals.
   - Effectively implement activities that result in improved student
   achievement.
   - Possess strong management skills.
   - Demonstrate a proven track record in conducting levy campaigns.
   - Serve as a skilled communicator and mediator in working with the
   board, parents, students, staff and community members.
   - Demonstrate personal integrity and commitment to the McDonald
   community and schools.

*Requirements:*
The Board of Education will consider applications from individuals who:

   - Have experience as an effective superintendent as well as building
   principal.
   - Hold an Ohio superintendent’s certificate or license (or satisfactory
   evidence of eligibility).


*Contract and Timeline:*
The board will issue a full-time contract.
This timeline may be modified at the discretion of the Board.
