The Lordstown Local School District Board of Education is seeking qualified
applicants for the position of Superintendent. The Trumbull County
Educational Service Center is assisting the Board of Education in the
selection process.

The Lordstown Local School District is located in the village of Lordstown,
Trumbull County, in Northeastern Ohio and is serviced by the Trumbull
County Educational Service. The Village of Lordstown encompasses nearly
23.14 square miles with a population of 3,325. The median household income
is 53.5k.
The district campus is comprised of two public schools; one elementary
building serving students in grades K-6 and one high school building
serving 7-12 with a total enrollment of 492 students.

*Superintendent Qualifications*
Lordstown Local Schools is searching for a superintendent with an exemplary
educational background, a passion for education, demonstrated leadership
abilities and exceptional communication skills. Candidates must exhibit
expertise in financial and administrative background in public schools, be
committed to both the highest personal and professional standards, and
demonstrate the following:
- Works with the treasurer to prepare an annual budget/appropriations
designed to serve the needs of the school system.
- Works with the board and community to maintain a strong commitment of
financial support.
- Administers and is accountable for the delivery of school programs,
services and activities that achieve effective results. Enforces all
applicable local, state, and federal laws.
- Maintains visibility. Responds to the demands of all other
constituencies in the district and carries out a positive public relations
program that promotes a clear vision of the district's mission and
philosophy.
- Demonstrates a commitment to professional development and lifelong
learning.
- Works with Board of Education to establish clear goals for the
district and insure that those goals are met.
- Promotes and effectively implements results-oriented activities to
improve student achievement across the district.
- Creates processes and strategies that confirm the district’s
curriculum is aligned with state standards.
- Creates processes to monitor implementation of district curriculum,
instruction and assessment and insure ongoing evaluation.
- Implements activities to inspire community confidence.
- Establishes working relationships with interest groups inside the
school, community and surrounding areas.
- Works with the Board of Education to keep stakeholders informed
regarding events and happenings in the district.
- Maintains a strong rapport with all district employees.
- Build relationships with other school districts.
* Requirements *
- Hold a current and valid Ohio Superintendent’s certificate or license
upon submission of application.
- Demonstrated knowledge and expertise in budgeting and school finance.
- Previous experience as a Superintendent preferred.
*Salary & Contract*
The Board expects to offer a multi-year regionally competitive contract.
Salary will be based on the administrative salary schedule and commensurate
with experience and qualifications.
