Superintendents,



Most of you are very focused on finding innovative ways to finish the
school year, but plans for the 2020-2021 school year also need to be a
priority. Although most students will be excited to return to school, there
may be restrictions in place due to COVID-19. Other students (and parents)
may be apprehensive about returning to face-to-face instruction.



NOVA is a consortium of 51 Ohio brick and mortar schools that have joined
to get the best possible pricing for online curriculum. We also support
each other in implementation and share teachers at times in hard to staff
areas. The fiscal agent for the consortium is Northern Buckeye Education
Council.



Our members use the curriculum in different ways. The most common uses are
credit recovery; electives that could not otherwise be offered; alternative
school curriculum; and providing an option to students who are currently
homeschooled or attending Ohio online schools. Blended instruction using
the curriculum will become more prevalent as districts search for new
methods of delivery for students. NOVA is an opportunity to keep students
in your district or to bring students back to the district.



If you are looking for a way to implement online learning, I would welcome
the opportunity to talk with you about our consortium. We may be able to
beat the price you are currently paying. Our goal is to continue growing
the consortium so we have buying power to meet the needs of our school
