[Mail_supt] Northwest Ohio Virtual Academy (NOVA) Consortium Option for SY 21-22

Superintendents,



It is hard to believe that the 2020-21 School Year has come to an end, and
what a year it was. As this year is wrapped up, plans for the 2021-22
school year are likely in motion. While most students and districts will
return to their school buildings, there are likely students and/or parents
who will want to remain in or attend school virtually. Additionally, your
district may be looking at additional options for credit recovery or
electives to help students catch back up after the roller coaster of the
last year and a half. I would encourage you to consider NOVA for any of
these needs.



NOVA is a consortium of public brick and mortar schools that have joined to
get the best possible pricing for online curriculum. We also support each
other in implementation and share teachers at times in hard to staff areas.
The fiscal agent for the consortium is Northern Buckeye Education Council.



Our members use the curriculum in different ways. The most common uses are
credit recovery; electives that could not otherwise be offered; alternative
school curriculum; and providing an option to students who are currently
homeschooled or attending Ohio online schools. Blended instruction using
the curriculum will become more prevalent as districts search for new
methods of delivery for students. NOVA is an opportunity to keep students
in your district or to bring students back to the district.



If you are looking for an online learning curriculum, I would welcome the
opportunity to talk to you about our consortium. We may be able to beat the
price you are currently paying for a different provider. Our goal is to
grow the consortium so we have buying power to meet the needs of our school
