The Newton Falls Exempted Village School District Board of Education is seeking qualified applicants for the position of superintendent.?? The district serves the Newton Falls community and?? operates three buildings?? -- an elementary, middle and junior/senior high school. The Trumbull County Educational Service Center is assisting the board in the superintendent selection process.

* To possess and articulate visionary skills and an ability to set short, annual, and long range goals for ongoing improvements.
* To demonstrate a commitment to professional development and life-long learning.
* To possess strong management and interpersonal skills including a personal style of visibility, accessibility, friendliness, straight talk, generous listening, and respectfulness.
* To be open with the board and to possess skills as a communicator and mediator.
* To demonstrate a sincere interest in the community along with community involvement, outreach, dialogue, and the ability to inspire confidence in the school system.
* To possess excellent communication skills including oral, written, and listening skills.
* To effectively implement activities that result in improved student achievement.
* To possess experience conducting employee negotiations and labor relations.
* To demonstrate experience implementing successful programs, maintaining high standards, and ensuring accountability for results.
* To demonstrate knowledge and expertise in budgeting, school finance, and the observation and assessment of employees.
* To set high expectations for the administrators and staff and to demonstrate evidence of the ability to work with a team and ensure accountability.
* To demonstrate personal integrity, create trust, and commitment to the Newton Falls community and schools.
* To promote the successes of the staff and students.
* To demonstrate evidence of the ability to manage the curriculum, special education issues, grants, transportation, building issues, and building and grounds maintenance.

Requirements

The Board of Education will consider applications from individuals who:
* Have experience as an effective superintendent, central office administrator or principal.
* Hold an Ohio superintendent???s certificate or license.
* Successful Ohio BCII & FBI.??

Compensation & Terms of Employment
??
It is the intention of the board to offer the successful candidate a multi-year contract. Salary and other fringe benefits are negotiable and will be commensurate with the candidate???s education and experience.
