Subject: Schools Receive Suspicious Email - Non-Urgent

Bulletin Type: Advisory - New

Status: Active

Narrative:
(U) More than fifty Massachusetts schools received suspicious emails recently. The messages are generally addressed to the principal, describe a family's intent to move to the area, request a conversation, and end with an apparent religious phrase from different religions. No viruses have been reported but engaging in conversation could create an opportunity for a variety of attacks. (U) DO NOT reply to these emails. Schools are asked to report the messages to police. Provide the full header to the message in the report. Police are asked to forward the information to the Commonwealth Fusion Center. (U) Click on the attachment of logon to the HHAN to view the bulletin.
