Good morning!
I wanted to share the message below regarding state software redesign. MVECA will be working on this as we move ahead and looking forward to implementing a production version of the new software.
MVECA is also continuing its involvement with the statewide ERP selection and we hope to have an announcement soon.
Feel free to ask any questions that may arise.
Thanks,
Thor

From Ed Weisenbach, ODE, and Geoff Andrews, MCOECN, co-chairs, State Software Oversight Board

The State Software Oversight Board met on Friday in Archbold to review progress on the “Redesign” of the state software. We are writing to update you:

Both the payroll and accounting (USPS and USAS) are functioning in the new environment. There are still some issues (“bugs”) being resolved. The Oversight group used the Redesign system on Friday with experimental data. Their reaction is that the new interface is substantially different than the current system, referred to as “Classic.” There is clearly a need for some “orientation” for those who wish to begin testing this “preview release.” And while the initial releases of Redesign will be focused on making sure all of the functionality of Classic remains available, the subsequent releases in future years will seek to add functionality that does not exist in Classic – functionality that many districts are currently getting through third party packages.

By mid February, each ITC will have someone trained to offer you and your staff an orientation on the Redesign software. Your ITC is organizing such orientations to occur between mid February and late March.

If you would like to “test it out,” please contact your ITC for orientation (they may also be contacting you). We’d like you to provide feedback to the design group by emailing Dave Smith at smith at nwoca.org<mailto:smith at nwoca.org>. The more you can test out the Redesign, the better it will be when it goes to a production release later this year. The key question for you to consider is this: What incomplete or missing features or reports would you require before using the Redesign software as a replacement for Classic USPS and USAS?

Please note that due to different distribution lists you may receive this more than one time. We appreciate your forbearance.
