[Mail_treas] Follow-up on Baais Yaakov Fax Settlement Fund

Treasurers/CFO's,
Yesterday I sent out an inquiry regarding a check(s) we received from Bais
Yaakov Fax Settlement Fund to see if anyone else had received a check as
well.  I received an overwhelming response that pretty much everyone
received the checks and were not sure what to do with them.
Here is what I did to check into the validity:

   1. Contacted the Ohio Attorney Generals Office - They have had no
   complaints or notices of any scams with this name.
   2. Looked at the website and saw the United State District Court order
   3. Contacted the 'Signature Bank' and gave them the Claim No on the
   check.  They did issue the checks and say it is a valid settlement of a
   class action law suit.  We would not have had to file anything regarding
   the law suit to receive this award.  We would not be signing up for
   anything or committing to anything by endorsing the check.  As far as
   endorsing the check the person I spoke with (Ashley Thomas) said to endorse
   the check in the general location that you would normally sign the check
   for endorsing.

I hope this helps.  If you still have any reservations you may want to
contact your attorney for an opinion.  (However, the opinion might cost
more than the check(s) is worth.
