[Mail_treas] Extra Events for Food Service

Fellow Treasurers,

We have a highly qualified Food Service Supervisor in our District. We want to begin having him prepare the meals for certain District events (prom, pizza parties, box dinners, etc.). In accordance with ORC 2921.42, we must pay him through the District as extra pay for these services. We are working on how this should look and what any guidance anyone has.

So, if you have your Food Service Supervisor do events like this outside of normal business hours, please answer the following:

1.      How do you compensate them for these extra duties? (stipend per hour, stipend per number of people attending, etc.)

2.      Can you run the activity through Fund 006? (purchase of food, payment for services, receipts from other groups) Or do I need to create a different Fund for this?

3.      Have you run into any issues with this? Any other guidance you may have.
