It is god advice that you use legal counsel.  We are constantly sending out exemption certificates for various items.  This is an expectation from many companies to clear them from audit on sales tax requirements.

Good morning!

We are in the process of securing a lease-purchase agreement with PNC Bank.  They are requesting an exemption certificate.

I informed the woman we are a political subdivision-school district.  She said she has always received an exemption certificate from school districts as well as from the State of Ohio.

I'm not sure where I have been the last 36 years, but I have never seen an exemption certificate for any school district.  I have referred to Ohio Revised Code as proof.  If any one of you has a certificate, please let me know how to get one.
