Thanks for all the great comments on my inquiry. I've attached a word
document with all the raw comments.
It is pretty clear from all the interaction that moving our 9 month
employees to 8-1 would create a huge problem in people getting paid before
they have worked. In a perfect world this might work but we don't live in
a perfect world.

Subject: Employee Contract Start Dates
We have employee contractual start dates of 7-1, 8-1 and 9-1. The vast
major if the employees have 9-1 start dates (9 month employees) All 9
month employees are on stretch pay. We are CONSIDERING moving all of our
contractual start dates to 8-1. From a payroll simplification standpoint
this seems to make sense to do but we think we may be missing some
downsides. Has anyone does this and if so what are the watch outs? Any
other advice?
