[Mail_treas] Severence reimbursement for Auxiliary Personnel

I am not asking for a response or sending out a survey.
I only want to pass along some information that might just get you a lot of
money back from the State, for free.

I just came across some paperwork that dealt with a situation this year
that was kind of rare.  We have a few Auxiliary schools in our district and
at two of them, we have our employees working there, being paid out of
auxiliary funds.  One of the employees retired this year.  It appeared we
were on the hook for the severance pay.   I made many calls to other
treasurers and the answers were all the same, there was nothing you can do,
and, I was going to have to eat the cost.  I keep digging into the issue
within the wonderful wacky world of ODE and found out that there is a form
that the school can use to be reimbursed for some or all of the severance
based on a few calculations.  As you can imagine this information is not
made readily available to us treasurers/CFO's by ODE.   I have never had a
treasurer/CFO even speak about such a reimbursement.
So, this email is to get the word out about this reimbursement.  Last year
we received back from ODE over $25,000 for the severance that we paid out.
I have attached two files to this email.  The first file is the
instructions on what to do and the second file is the form you will need to
complete that will determine your reimbursement.

They're probably some of you out there that already knew about this form
but for a lot of you that didn't know, this info is for you.  If you are
able to get money back please let your board of education know what *you* found
out and what *you* did.  The board will love you for finding hidden money.
