[Mail_treas] Processing Professional Development Requests

We are a district of approximately 3800 students and use Title II-A and other federal dollars to fund professional development activities for our teachers.

In most cases, we are directing employees to attend various out of district events and so with that in mind, our Central Office actually makes and pays for  conference registration and hotel reservation on behalf of the employee prior to the conference date.  The employee simply has to show up at the event with all related arrangements ( event registration and hotel reservation) already made and paid for them.

I am curious how many other districts take this same approach or, instead choose to put the responsibility for the conference registration, making the hotel reservation,  and also initial payment in the lap of the employee attending by which they can apply for district reimbursement  after the fact.
