Thanks to everyone for the responses, very helpful. Below is a summary of
results (46 responses) as many were interested.
28 districts pay 100% of the cost. I should've clarified in my question
that I was counting the summer even though one district paid the SRO costs
through the summer as well.
18 districts reported a shared cost between them and their local government
(county, city or village). Based on most of the percentages, I think the
majority were reporting a percentage that meant they were not paying for
the summer costs. Going with that assumption, that left only 12 districts
out of 46 that were getting funding above and beyond the cost of employment
over the summer when they aren't actually working at the school.
4 received 100% funding
1 received 80%
1 received 60%
6 received 50%
All districts reported that their SROs are active duty officers.
Also of note, some districts are using Title IV-A funds to offset some of
the cost.
