Good afternoon!
I am forwarding the below message from the MCOECN and ODE regarding the creation of a Cyber Security Resource Page (see below).  Please know that this page does not represent the full extent of MVECA's approach to cyber security.  Over the next many weeks you will be seeing some big marketing pushes coming from private sector IT service providers that are ramping up to sell cyber security to you.  Please know that MVECA has been doing extensive work around cyber security for some time and would welcome opportunities to assist our districts before they opt to pay for outside assessments and/or equipment implementations.  MVECA currently partners directly with leading cyber security firms and is continuing to implement industry leading solutions and NIST compliant policies to protect your district.  While we hope that the resources on the ODE cyber page are helpful to your own cyber security policy development, we would urge you to speak to policy makers in Columbus about actually funding K12 cyber security.  Right now MVECA and our members are independently funding one of the most expensive technology implementations in our history without increasing fees to schools.  We need more help than simple lists of resources in order to address the most significant technology needs schools have today.
In the meantime, if you aren't providing recurring training for cyber security awareness for 100 percent of your staff, please call us.  If you need comprehensive end-point security, encrypted backup solutions, multi-factor authentication solutions, or local firewall implementation, please call MVECA.  We are here to help you to the fullest possible extent.

We are pleased to announce the launch of the Ohio Department of Education Cyber Security Resources<https://ohio-k12.help/cyber-security/> webpage dedicated to supporting school districts with cyber security resources. The site was developed through a collaborative effort by the Ohio Department of Education's Cyber Security Steering Committee: the Center for Internet Security, Filament Essential Services, the Management Council, MS-ISAC, the Ohio Department of Education, and many Ohio school districts. It was designed to improve the information security posture of all school districts in Ohio by providing information and resources to develop security programs addressing five major components:

The website also provides information from the Center for Internet Security, which includes real-time news, advisories, and security tips to help understand and mitigate current threats. The Resource Library page explains the top-ten processes that will help to get your security program started, as well as numerous downloadable resources to support your efforts. Additional Resource Links to experts in the cyber security industry are provided to augment your cyber security program.
