Superintendent Kelly Meyers has successfully lead and served the district in this role for the past 12 years. She intends to retire effective August 1, 2023. The district desires an educational leader with a commitment to excellence for all students who will continue a forward trajectory. The Northwest Ohio Educational Service Center is assisting the Board in its search.

District Mission:?? The mission of the Holgate Local School District is to provide opportunities for the development of skills, knowledge, and self-confidence, which will assist all student in reaching their fullest potential, excelling as lifelong learners, and acting as responsible citizens.

The Community and its Schools: ??Holgate Local School is located in the agriculturally rich Henry County, Ohio. It is a rural community with a proud history and many generational farms. There are three small communities in the district???Holgate, New Bavaria and Pleasant Bend???with Holgate being the largest. These villages are quaint places to live and raise families.?? Many large and small businesses and manufacturing companies are located within a 15- to 20-minute drive from Holgate. Both Defiance College and Northwest State Community College are also within commuting distance. Residents can enjoy the quiet country life while still being close enough to larger towns and cities for other resources and events. The school boasts one PreK-12 building built in 2005 on a 50-acre campus located on the northeast side of Holgate. The school is a source of great pride for the district and the community. The community has historically been hugely supportive of its school, both by supporting levies and being involved in activities at/for the school and the students.
