Good Afternoon,

We have been informed of a situation with EMIS H data that we'd like to make you aware of.  The OPU description entered into USAS is a string datatype.  When entering a value into the text box, some users have included a carriage return to ensure additional text is on a new line.  When the data is submitted to the data collector, the row of data containing the carriage return, and all subsequent rows, are not inserted into the staging properly.  This is causing problems with any DEW reporting of account code data that includes that OPU.

Districts can locate OPUs that contain a carriage return and quickly correct them in USAS from the OPU grid.  Using the Advanced Query option select the description property, specify 'contains' as the operation and the filter value should be populated with '\n'.  Do not include the single quotes, just the value.  When the query is applied the grid will be filtered to those OPUs that contain a carriage return.  Those OPU descriptions should be modified to remove the carriage return.  Once corrected, the data can be resubmitted.

Districts can easily locate if they are having data submission problem related to the OPU description by using the appropriate selections on the Progress tab.  The Stage or Result column will show "RC: Pending (with errors)" for districts with this problem.
