We have received a few reports from ITCs indicating districts are receiving 'file parsing errors' when attempting to import their USAS generated GAAP export file into WEBGAAP, causing the import to fail. It appears this is the result of a recent change on the AOS WEBGAAP side, where their import process is now validating AF records (fund only) for blank fund descriptions.

To resolve the issue, in USAS, the district should edit the affected funds in the Fund tab of the Account UI and enter a description for any fund where the description is blank. These appear to be older, inactive funds that were migrated from Classic and their fund descriptions were not populated, so there are likely only a handful that need to be updated. To quickly identify these, the district can sort the Description column on the Fund grid. Funds with blank descriptions will appear at the top of the list.

Once the descriptions have been updated, the district can regenerate the GAAP extract and upload the new file into WEBGAAP. Since these descriptions only need to be updated once, this issue should not occur again.
