<p class="MsoNormal">Per Ohio Dept of taxation, if no Ohio tax was withheld then Ohio does not require a 1099 Misc or 1099 NEC.<o:p></o:p></p>

<p class="MsoNormal">In short, no electronic file will be created by SSDT because you are not required to report.<o:p></o:p></p>

<p class="MsoNormal">Please keep in mind, this has nothing to do with reporting to the FIRE website. That is Federal reporting and still required. <o:p></o:p></p>

information with you and get started on implementing the ability to generate the necessary files.

<p class="MsoNormal">Yesterday afternoon I called and spoke to someone at the Ohio Department of Taxation to clarify reporting requirements. I was told that there is no need to submit an Ohio 1099 if there is no Ohio withholding. The gentleman I spoke to
referenced sections of the attached document. I specifically inquired about the wording on the <a href="https://tax.ohio.gov/business/ohio-business-taxes/employer-withholding/w2-information-page" target="_blank">W-2/1099 Information Page</a> and he acknowledged
that it was worded poorly. <o:p></o:p></p>
