Hello, again!

I received additional information about the possible problem created when using ACTCHG option "S" for revenue changes. Please see my conversation with Sara Glore below and check your ACTCHG.TXT to determine if your account file is corrupt. If you see problems, please let me know!

Thanks
Deb

Deb-

I'm not sure if VALACT will catch all the possibilities here?

I would have them review their ACTCHG.TXT file from the spreadsheet revenue ACTCHG runs and if anything looks off we can go from there and we will probably want to look at their ACCT.IDX file.

Thanks-
Sara

Thanks for the info, Sara!

Will VALACT send a warning if the subject is not valid? Should districts run VALACT if they used ACTCHG option S for revenue accounts to determine if their acct.idx file is corrupt?

Thanks
Deb

Deb-

The first place to look is at the ACTCHG.TXT that was created. What we have seen in our testing is it is throwing the dimensions off, for example:

I changed account 001 1211 0000 0000000 000 to 001 1211 3333 000000 000 but the ACTCHG.TXT file shows it as: 03 001 1211 0003 333000 000.

It shifted the SCC over three spaces creating the wrong account.

I hope that helps and if you have any more questions or would like us to look at something feel free to send it on.

Thanks!

Sara

Hey Sara!

I know I have districts that used this for revenue. What can they look for to determine if their ACCT.IDX is corrupt?

Thanks for any additional information.

Good Morning,

A bug was found in the 'S - Change accounts using spreadsheet file' option of ACTCHG when it is used for REVENUE accounts, only. This does have the potential of corrupting the ACCT.IDX file so we would advise that you not use the spreadsheet option of ACTCHG to change revenue accounts at this time.

If a revenue account needs to be changed please use the 'R - Change revenue account and associated transactions' option of ACTCHG.

We are currently working on fix and will make it available as soon as possible.

If you have any questions please contact the USAS Team.

Thanks,
Sara Glore
