Good Morning,
An update to the software was installed last night. Here are the highlights. Additional details can be found at https://wiki.ssdt-ohio.org/x/jYAtAQ.
USAS
1. OPU validations were updated. Not only will it check to see if the OPU is non-zero for the following functions; but, it will check to see that the OPU used is not assigned to the district IRN. These functions must have an OPU that is a building IRN. This change is for Traditional districts only. It will not affect ESCs, Career Centers or Community Schools. This change affects all programs that validate USAS account codes. Please run VALACT at this time to determine if your accounts are meeting the validations.

2. AUTOPOST/OTHER was changed to create a future PO batch if the date used is not in the current month.
3. The BUDSUM-MOE (Maintenance of Effort) was updated to ODE's specifications:
Fund: 001-300, 400-499, 504 and 532.
Function: 1230-1239, 1240-1249, 1280, 1290, 1330-1339, 1350, 2140-
2149, 2150-2159, 2180-2189, 2215, 2216, 2416, 2417, 2821 and 3412.
Object: 100 -190, 200-292, 400-499, 500-590, 600-690 and 844
4. USAEMS was modified to change fatal errors to warnings if USAEMSEDT is not complete. USAEMSEDT includes the cash reconciliation, the federal assistance summary and detail and civil proceedings. You will, however, need to go to USAEMSEDT Option 2 - Federal Assistance Summary to 'A'dd a record for fiscal year 2014. This will allow you to run USAEMS and create a sequential file that just has the USAEMSDB - district/building data that is required to be reported in the 14H reporting period. The other options of USAEMSEDT can be reported in the current manifest but are not required. A supplemental manifest will be available in September for the fixed asset reporting and the miscellaneous data elements.
USPS
1. The new SERSHIRE option was updated with some changes to the job classifications:
Position Code
Was SERS classification
Now SERS classification
901
09-Other
01-Office Admin
505
05-Clerical
04-Educational Aide
201 and 209
04-Educational Aide
09-Other
415
09-Other
04-Educational Aide
Remember that you need a position code for any classified subs if you plan to use the SERSHIRE file to upload their enrollment to SERS.
2. USPEMS/PERDET now has a prompt to exclude concealed employees. The SIF collection in the Data Collector does not collect concealed employees regardless of the report to EMIS flag on the demographic or employment record. This will allow you to see who is concealed and unconceal them if the record needs to be reported to ODE.
3. USPEMS/USPEMX no longer has a prompt to include concealed employees.
4. USPLOAD/JOBLOAD now requires additional fields for uploads. If adding new records you must have the EMPLOYEE_ID, JOB_NO, JOB_STATUS, PAY_UNIT, PAY_GROUP, and EQUAL_PAYS.
5. The HSA deduction type was corrected to allow a direct deposit type of either 22 or 32.
6. In the past STRS counted a holiday as a day of service credit. In the March release of the software it was changed to not count it as a work day per STRS. STRS futher clarified that if the holiday is a PAID holiday it is considered to be a day of service. Holidays on the calendar are now counted as a day of service credit. STRS counts work, calamity and holidays as work days. This will not affect any STRS reporting that occurred between the March and May release as STRS only receives service credit on the annual report. It is recalculated when STRSAD is executed.
Let me know if you have any questions.
