The Miami Valley Educational Computer Association (MVECA) is seeking qualified candidates for a Treasurer/Software Support Specialist position.

The Treasurer will serve as chief financial officer for MVECA and will be responsible for the delivery of payroll and benefits administration services as well as development and maintenance of organizational financial records and budget documents.  The Treasurer will also provide a limited amount software support to MVECA client organizations that utilize USPS and USAS software.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
1.  Manages a complete and systematic set of financial records in accordance with state statute and the requirements of the auditor of state.  Serves as official custodian of fiscal records for all state and federal programs. 
2.  Perform payroll and benefits administration and processing duties for MVECA. Payroll processing duties may include employee earnings calculation, data input, processing, posting, check file generation, electronic pay-slips generation, employee pay data update, direct deposit ACH transfer, deduction checks preparation, reconciliation of pay/deduction checks/quarter/year end, report generation, and data backup.
3.  Manages and prepares financial reports and records in accordance with all requirements defined by statute, the Ohio Dept. of Education, and the Auditor of State.
4.  Renders a monthly financial statement to the MVECA Board, assists the Executive Director in gathering data for various studies and reports as requested.

OTHER DUTIES
1.  Research, develop, and implement best practices for payroll processing by keeping up with SSDT developments and available products from third-party vendors.
2.  Provide training in the use of the USPS, KIOSK, USPSweb and USASDW in conjunction with the other members of the fiscal services department.
3.  Serves as customer service contact for software information and trouble resolution. Provides a high level of timely and reliable support services (e.g., responds to inquiries, provides advice, helps clients use software effectively, resolves problems, etc.).

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
1.  Bachelor's degree in accounting, business management, or related field.
2.  Ability to obtain professional certifications in accounting and payroll and valid Ohio School Treasurer's license.
3.  Strong working knowledge of payroll and employee benefits.
4.  Demonstrated ability to organize multiple tasks into a logical and purposeful sequence.
5.  Ability to learn and utilize new computer software systems.
6.  Strong written and verbal communication skills.
7.  Ability to work cooperatively with individuals of varying backgrounds and to handle all information and data professionally and confidentially.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
1.  Five or more years of formal training and/or experience in governmental accounting.
2.  Advanced knowledge of all office productivity software (i.e.
spreadsheet, word processing).
3.  Ability to use software tools to perform needed tasks.
4.  Experience with the State's financial software package and related components.
