[Mveca_usas] BEWARE: Classic W2 PROCESSING NOTES

Hello,

If you plan to use USPLOAD/DEDLOAD for the COVID fields be sure to use the headers in the attached spreadsheet.  If you use Safari ODBC to query your data, Safari doesn't have the correct headers.  It has "FED-" before the correct header.  DEDLOAD will show that all records were updated when they were not.  Be sure to spot check the federal records after your import to confirm that the values were loaded.

Good Friday afternoon!  Here are a couple notes about Classic W2 processing.


1.       Attached is a spreadsheet with the needed fields for importing the values into the COVID fields on the federal deduction record, 001. The leading zeros are required. Use USPLOAD/DEDSCN to do the import to the deductions

2.        All releases for W2 processing are installed.  It is recommended to do a backup of your files before running W2PROC.  Please write HELPFISCAL at MVECA.ORG<mailto:HELPFISCAL at MVECA.ORG> when you need a backup.  We will create it for you.   This is a precaution only.  It doesn't take the place of the backup you do just before closing the 4th quarter (step 36 on the checklist).  That backup is still required.

We will send out additional information about printing tax forms, picking up tax forms and submitting your data to federal, state and local entities.
