[Mveca_usas] Important Tax Information for CYE - Action Required ASAP- CYE Date Reminder

Good Morning and Happy Monday All,

I have a few VERY IMPORANT updates to share with you all that need action and we recommend completing before our CYE meeting on 11/22/2024. I know some districts have had changes in treasurer staff so I want to share again this year that if you have new treasurer staff or if you are a new district you must apply for a TCC code so you will be able to file your 1099 forms through IRS Fire<https://fire.test.irs.gov/> system for 2024.

Please ensure if you have had any changes to the treasurer staff impacting who will be filing or is a contact for filing 1099's you complete the IR Application for TCC<https://la.www4.irs.gov/esrv/esam/pages/landingPage.xhtml> as soon as possible.

Attached is a presentation from last year to step through the TCC code application for those districts that need to obtain a TCC code.

Updates from the IRS: Please read all and for additional assistance with your TCC code or TCC code status please reach out directly to the IRS at 866-455-7438 Monday-Friday 8:30-5:30 EST (They are closed today, 11/11/24  for Veteran's Day)
***New for 2024: If you have 10 or more returns E-Filing is required.
