[Mveca_usps] USPS December Release

Hello!

The December release of the software was installed last night.  The release included new fields for the CITY tax deduction type.  These are required due to HB5 Section 718.03(H).

OK!!  Don't freak out!  I know there are some of you that have completed W2 processing.   That's not a problem!!! If you need to make changes, we will put your files in a demo to process a new W2 file.


1.        On the DEDNAM city records, 2 new flags have been added. One is the RITA city flag and the other is the CCA city flag. A "Y" in these fields indicate that it is a RITA city or a CCA city. A blank or "N" says that it is not a RITA city or a CCA city. The RITA and CCA flags can be found on the DEDNAM City record after the RITA and CCA city code.

3.       The 3 digit RITA code can be found at this link, https://www.ritaohio.com/resources/tax-rates-tables/.    If there is a 3 digit code on the website, then the 3 digit RITA code (must have leading zeros), RITA flag set to "Y" and the city name must all be entered for the city on DEDNAM record.


4.        As for CCA, if it is a CCA reportable city http://ccatax.ci.cleveland.oh.us/forms/magmed2016.pdf,   (city found in Appendix A in the CCA Specifications starting page 11), the CCA code must be entered (must have leading zeros), the CCA flag must be a "Y" and the CCA city name must be entered.  If there is a 3 digit code in Appendix B, that is not in Appendix A in the CCA Specifications, then the 3 digit CCA code must be specified along with a city name, but the CCA flag should be blank or "N".


5.       For those cities that are not RITA or CCA cities, it is recommended to put the city name in the RITA or CCA city name description field (these would be records without a RITA/CCA code and have the RITA/CCA flag be = space or "N"). If there is no RITA or CCA city name in the description, W2PROC will automatically use the W2 Abbrev field for the city name on the RITA and CCA file.

W2PROC was updated to the new specifications.
