Testing Window Extension for Ohio's New Tests - Spring 2015
A school district may need to delay school or cancel a day or several days of school during its scheduled testing window, due to weather or other unexpected circumstances. This guidance addresses the extension of a district's testing window only under these circumstances. A district cannot use a testing window extension for a school delay or closure that occurred before testing started.

Mathematics and English Language Arts
Districts that are using the computer format for the new state tests have a 20-day window available for testing. Those that are using the paper format have a 10-day window available for testing. If your district cancels school during your 10-day or 20-day window, you may add an additional school day to your testing window to provide the full 10-day or 20-day testing window. Your district may do this up to a maximum of five days beyond your scheduled window. If you need extra days beyond the additional five, please call Paula Mahaley in the department's Office of Curriculum and Assessment at (614) 466-0217. The additional days must be consecutive school days starting with the first school day beyond your scheduled window.

Science and Social Studies
The testing window for the science and social studies tests is March 2-13. If your district cancels school during this testing window, your district may add up to a maximum of five days beyond your scheduled window. The extra test days must immediately follow the test window (e.g., starting March 16), must be consecutive school days and must equal the number of days that you have canceled school during the testing window. Please notify Paula Mahaley in the department's Office of Curriculum and Assessment about extra days you need and are using at (614) 466-0217.
The additional order window for the paper format is not being extended. The shipping carrier must pick up all paper materials immediately after testing and no later than March 20. If your district tests on March 20, you must return your materials the same day.
If you have any questions, contact Paula Mahaley at (614) 466-0217.
 Have a great day!

Kind regards,
Amy
