[Tech-l] broadband support for low-income families

Good morning,
I wanted to let you all know about the below opportunities with Spectrum.  The first is a program for reduced residential broadband costs for low-income families in your community.  The second is a grant opportunity for tax exempt organizations providing certain types of programming or training to underserved populations.  The grant window opened on the 29th and will close August 23rd.

Spectrum Internet Assist:
Charter believes everyone should have access to reliable, high-speed internet.  Spectrum Internet Assist program offers internet at a reduced price to households that qualify.
In order to qualify for Spectrum Internet Assist, a member of the household must be a recipient of one of the following:
*         National School Lunch Program (NSLP), (i.e. the family will need to have a child on a free or reduced lunch)
*         The Community Eligibility Program (CEP) of the NSLP
*         Supplemental Security Income (SSI), (for those 65 or older)

Spectrum Digital Education Grant Program:
The Spectrum Digital Education grant program is designed to support nonprofit organizations that educate community members, specifically families and seniors who have historically been underrepresented, on the benefits of broadband and how to use it to improve their lives.

To be eligible, applying organizations must serve communities located in a Spectrum market and have 501(c)(3) tax-exempt status.
