[Tech-l] Securly Training and Information

Good morning!
On Tuesday November 8th, from 9:00 to noon, Securly will be at MVECA to provide training and information pertaining to their content filtering solution.  They will also have information on their additional products.  There will be plenty of time to ask questions of all kinds.  I don't have a detailed agenda for this event yet, but will provide more information as we get closer.  Please, however, register now using one of these links:

Effective and efficient content filtering has long been a problem area in the K12 arena.  Over the years MVECA has provided multiple varieties of content filtering solutions, and none of them have been popular.  What we did learn was that hardware-based solutions are quickly outgrown, extremely expensive, and almost always add a great deal of latency at the network core.  Securly URL filtering, is a solution we're proud to be able to provide to our members at no additional cost to schools.  Although we've had periodic issues over the last few years, MVECA's expenditures for content filtering have been consistent and Securly has been able to scale as the amount of traffic our consortium generates has increased dramatically.  We hope you're able to attend on the 8th to learn how to best manage and configure this important resource.
