Good afternoon!

We now have new pricing for cellular hotspot services for residential deployments from AT&T, T-Mobile, and Verizon. We also have pricing on traditional residential broadband from Spectrum.

After evaluating the various solutions, the need for schools to be able to manage services and devices, the coverage areas, and the pricing, we believe that the best value is found with Verizon.

• Monthly unlimited data plan for $15 a month.

• One time cost for a jetpack (900L/LS) for $60.

• Device setup of jetpacks Verizon MDM (provides zero touch configuration/OTA updates/MAC filtering - $1.49/month/device

• Cipa Content filtering solution from Asavie - $3.50/month/device

• There is a minimum of 6 months of service commitment, with ability to cancel any time after 6 months

Verizon provided third party coverage maps to support their assurance that they do not have any areas of concern in our region where reliable high-speed connectivity would be an issue. The map allows you to review service for all providers
and Verizon clearly has the least amount of slow network reports.

It is important to note that most districts utilize a MVECA provided content filtering solution that protects children both at home and at school if using a properly configured school-provided computing device. If your district is using
Securly, in conjunction with school-owned Chromebooks or other school-owned devices that have the Securly Smart PAC installed, we believe that you do NOT need the CIPA component defined in the Verizon offering, which will save $3.50 per month/per device.
Please let us know if you have questions about this.

Additionally we expect to see full details on the Broadband Ohio Connectivity Grant coming out on Monday. This program will utilize the additional $50m in CARES Act funds that was approved by the Ohio Controlling Board late last month.
We expect to see definitions for eligible and ineligible expenses for this program to be similar to the lists below:

All other CARES funding can be used for connectivity as well.

HOW TO ORDER:

MVECA is going to assist in brokering services, however, we will do so in a way that the district remains the billed entity.
Please send me the desired quantity of devices/services you would like to order and I will get an agreement for your district as quickly as possible.

If you would like to see additional offerings from other carriers, please let me know. It may be that some households require an alternative carrier due to coverage considerations. MVECA will help with this too.
