<p class="MsoNormal">Good afternoon,<o:p></o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal">This morning MVECA suffered a critical outage caused by an applied firewall configuration that stopped traffic dependent upon internal routing in our environment. Although our current/new implementation includes high availability failover,
the erroneous configuration impacted both the primary and failover hardware. In order to ensure this never happens again, we will be applying an upgrade on December 27<sup>th</sup> that will allow us to revert to a previous configuration within seconds.<o:p></o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal">We are exceptionally sorry for this interruption in service and are doing everything possible to minimize downtime for our clients, to include significant investments in next generation implementations that provide the highest levels of
security and performance. Unfortunately, the sort of growth in capacity and capability we are experiencing does occasionally with some bumps in the road. Please know that we won’t rest as long as there is any possibility of substandard performance or dependability.
Today’s outage, while exceptionally unfortunate and untimely, will provide us with additional opportunities to further improve our services. Again, we cannot stress enough how sorry we are that this occurred and we fully acknowledge the impact this sort of
