<p class="MsoNormal">Dear MVECA Members and Associates,<o:p></o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal">As was discussed and approved by the MVECA Assembly in April, MVECA’s merger with the Miami Valley Communications Council (MVCC) is moving ahead. At its May meeting, MVCC’s governing board approved the merger that will occur under a new
council of governments to be known as the Miami Valley Technology and Communications Group. MVCC will be moving from its location in Centerville to MVECA’s headquarters in Yellow Springs. This activity will provide opportunities to further expand the myriad
of services provided by the two organizations to school districts and local governments. MVECA and MVCC will both continue to operate as they have in the past and all employees will become part of the new organization.<o:p></o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal">Attached is a copy of a joint press release officially announcing the merger. We have no time constraints, so the merger will happen incrementally over the next several months. MVECA’s Executive Director will become the Executive Director
of the new organization while Jay Weiskircher, MVCC’s Executive Director, will serve as Deputy Director with a focus on government relations and services.<o:p></o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal">We will keep everyone posted as the merger continues to evolve. We look forward to continuing our work with your organization and hope our combined service offerings will benefit your schools and communities in the future.<o:p></o:p></p>
