End-of-Course Testing Opens October 10, 2022
On October 10, 2022, WebXam will release all available practice tests, posttests, and field tests. This date also opens the teacher effectiveness windows for districts using pre and post tests for student gain measurements.
Teachers and administrators are encouraged to reference the FY22 and FY23 Assessment Matrixes<https://education.ohio.gov/Topics/Career-Tech/CTE-Data-and-Accountability/Career-Technical-Education-Program-and-Assessment> on ODE's website for guidance on which tests are available for your courses. WebXam also offers additional information about each test and links to course outlines and test blueprints on the WebXam About the Tests webpage<https://www.webxam.org/public/AboutTheTests>.
Be sure to have your student rosters uploaded to WebXam and ready to go before the testing window officially opens. District administrators are encouraged to review the Bulk Student Roster Uploads<https://www.webxam.org/Public/Upload> webpage for additional information.

Transportation Systems Field Testing
Transportation Systems tests (including tests cross-listed in non-Transportation Pathways) are being field tested this year. These newly written item banks are aligned to the updated content standards for the Transportation Career Field. Field Tests are longer than other WebXam tests, must be completed sooner, and may not be retaken in the current school year.

Changes to Student Test Activation and Authentication
The student login process is changing. Instead of permanent passwords, students will be assigned time-limited access codes generated as a testing session is scheduled. To log into WebXam students will use their username and the access code.
We encourage teachers to schedule their testing sessions a few days in advance using the WebXam "Activate Test" process. Teachers can schedule a testing session up to 1 week in advance and a printable PDF will be provided with student usernames and access codes after the tests are activated.

The Item-Writing Year has Begun - be a SME!
We are going to be writing for Business, Finance, and Marketing during the 2022-2023 school year. If you are an instructor for these career fields in any of the courses, we need you to help us write new items for course tests. If you are interested in participating in these writing workshops, please visit https://go.osu.edu/bfmparticipationsurvey and tell us more about yourself. Virtual item-writing workshops start in November; this workshop style means less time away from the classroom, no need for a substitute, and the stipend is often paid directly to YOU! You can check out our calendar here<https://news.webxam.org/item-writing/calendars/>.
Be sure to sign up today - SMEs are KEY to CETE!

Business, Finance, and Marketing Blueprint Survey
As part of this planning process for item writing workshops, we ask instructors in Business, Finance, and Marketing to provide us with input on which content standards are most important for each course. If you are a Business, Finance, and/or Marketing instructor who would like to participate in this survey, please contact Bridget McHugh at mchugh.159 at osu.edu<mailto:mchugh.159 at osu.edu> with your name and preferred email address to receive a link to the survey. This is a great way to have a say in the test content even if you cannot help us write test questions by participating in the Item-Writing Workshops.
