WebXam Winter Pretest Window Closes January 27th, 2023

Pretests can help document student gain, along with the observations and measurements conducted directly by the instructor and other local district staff. The window for winter pretesting closes January 27th, 2023.

No Pretesting for Transportation Systems

Transportation Systems tests (including tests cross-listed in non-Transportation Pathways) are being field tested this year. This means there's no pretest available for these courses. These newly written item banks are aligned to the updated content standards for the Transportation Career Field. Field Tests are significantly longer than other WebXam tests. Please plan for additional testing time. In addition, field tests must be taken before April 21, 2023. Please note that students that assessed previously in Transportation Systems and are planning to retake this academic year must take the field test. These students cannot take an old version of the assessment. These students should prepare for assessments based on the latest version of the assessment.

New Same-Year Field-Test Retake Policy

Students graduating in the current academic year and intending to use the WebXam Graduation Option may retake Field-Tested WebXam Assessments one time after the assessment's forms have been finalized by the Target for Field Test Finalization date on the WebXam Calendar. Only graduating students who have taken a field-tested assessment in the current academic year will be allowed to retake the finalized assessment that year.

Business, Finance, and Marketing Blueprint Survey

As part of this planning process for item writing workshops, we ask instructors in Business, Finance, and Marketing to provide us with input on which content standards are most important for each course. If you are a Business, Finance, and/or Marketing instructor who would like to participate in this survey, please contact Bridget McHugh at mchugh.159 at osu.edu<mailto:mchugh.159 at osu.edu> and provide your name and preferred email address to receive a link to the survey. This is a great way to have a say in the test content even if you cannot help us write test questions by participating in the Item-Writing Workshops.

Teacher Review Workshops

WebXam and CETE staff are resuming Teacher Review Workshops in the 2022-2023 school year. As you prepare for next year, it's important to note that due to increased travel costs and changes for CETE staffing, we will have a limited capacity for Teacher Test Reviews in the 2023-2024 school year. This will include a transition to fewer Teacher Test Reviews conducted outside of Columbus, and more reviews conducted at CETE's office on the West Campus of Ohio State University.

In anticipation of this policy change, please do the following:

  1.  Consider partnering with other schools within your area. CETE staff will still travel for Teacher Test Reviews with a large volume of participants.
  2.  Please provide us with the names, dates, and location of any conferences most of your CTE instructors attend. We may be able to schedule a Teacher Test Review near the conference site.
  3.  Consider sending instructors to CETE's facility to review the test. If a group of instructors from your school would like to review the tests on a specific day that's not already on our schedule, we can schedule additional review days on our premises at least a month in advance.
