WebXam welcomes
Teachers, Administrators, and Staff
to the 2024-2025 school year!

We are looking forward to a successful item-writing and testing year. We also are excited to continue working with you to improve WebXam. For the latest news and information about item-writing and testing, be sure to visit WebXam News<https://news.webxam.org/>.

WebXam Testing Calendar is Available

The finalized WebXam Calendar for 2024-2025 is now posted on the WebXam News site. Be sure to note the pretesting and field-testing windows. For more information about important testing dates and deadlines, see the WebXam News calendar<https://news.webxam.org/calendar/>.

Pretesting Opens on August 14th

The fall pretesting window opens on August 14, 2024, and will remain open until October 4, 2024. Pretests are recognized as a measure of student learning gain by the Ohio Department of Education and Workforce (ODEW). CETE (Center of Education and Training for Employment) is offering pretests as Category B (ODEW-Approved Vendor) for this year (Student Gain and High-Quality Student Data). Be sure to have your Administrator check their current pretesting credits and purchase more if they are needed.

We want to remind you that there is no pretesting available for any Agriculture & Environmental Systems courses in the 2024-2025 school year. These new item banks will be in field testing this year. Please email us<mailto:webxam at osu.edu> if you have questions regarding this.

Help Create Your Tests – Be a SME (Subject Matter Expert)!

We are writing Information Technology and Arts & Communication tests during the 2024-2025 school year. If you are an instructor for any courses in these career fields, please consider helping us write new items for new course tests. If you are interested in participating in these writing workshops, please visit the interest form<https://forms.office.com/r/TnfSnCnv5z> and tell us more about yourself. We will host virtual item-writing workshops via Zoom from September to June. The virtual format means less time away from the classroom, no need for a substitute, and payment is often paid directly to YOU! You will also receive a digital badge for professional development and an opportunity for college credit. Be sure to check our item-writing calendar<https://news.webxam.org/item-writing/calendars/> for your courses. Contact CETE Recruiting<mailto:cete-recruiting at osu.edu> with questions.

Be sure to sign up today<https://forms.office.com/r/TnfSnCnv5z> - SMEs are KEY to CETE

Information Technology or Arts & Communication Content Standards Survey

Before writing new test questions, we ask instructors to identify which content standards are most important for each course. This information determines which content standards to include on the end of course test. If you teach either Information Technology or Arts & Communication courses, please contact Becky Berenbon<mailto:berenbon.1 at osu.edu> with your name and preferred email address to receive a link to the survey. This is a great way to provide input on the test content in conjunction with participating in the item writing process.

2024 WebXam User's Workshop

Our annual User's Workshop will be held on October 4, 2024. If you are a new teacher or administrator, it's a fantastic opportunity to learn more about using WebXam, the test development process, and the science behind testing. This year's User's Workshop will be both in-person and online. For more information, and to optionally register, visit the User's Workshop page<https://news.webxam.org/users-workshop/>.

Bulk Uploads Now Available

Administrators can now upload student data for the 2024-2025 testing year utilizing the bulk roster upload tool. We encourage you to perform these uploads every year as a way of keeping student information in WebXam current. Please visit Bulk Uploads<https://www.webxam.org/Public/Upload> to review the template and details of the upload process.

Test Security Rulebook

The start of a new school year is a great time to review policies and procedures. Be sure to familiarize yourself and any new teachers in your school with the WebXam Test Security Rulebook. Teachers and administrators who access the WebXam website to administrate or deliver tests are required to agree to the WebXam User Agreement, which includes acceptance of the revised Test Security Rulebook<https://www.webxam.org/Public/TestSecurityRulebook>. Users will be prompted to confirm acceptance of these policies the first time they access WebXam each school year. The Test Security Rulebook can be found below.
