Good Morning EMIS Coordinators!

I just wanted to remind everyone that you should be checking your Secure Data Center to make sure that you are reporting all of your retention/non-retention reasons for any student who did not pass their 3rd Grade ELA OST.

You can generate a list of students by following these directions:

Log into your OHID portal
Select the Report Portal tile and open the app
Click on Secure Data Center
Click on Improving At-Risk K-3 Readers
Click on District 3rd Grade Reading Guarantee
Select the Subject to TGRG - SSID Detail tab (4th one) on the bottom
Choose your Promotion Status of NOT MET
This will generate a list of students that you have not added a retention/non-retention for (an example is below)

You can export this list out of the  secure data center by clicking on this export option

Keep in mind that this list will only provide you with SSID numbers

You will then want to ask for non-rentention reasons for these students (the list of reasons are below)

P Student was retained at the end of the previous school year due to the Third Grade Reading Guarantee, but was not retained because of parent/guardian request as outlined in Ohio law


If you have students who took the summer 3rd grade OST for ELA and passed that test; the state should update the SDC sometime according to tickets at DEW.  We are just not sure when that will happen.
