Good afternoon,

Recently you received a communication from our office (below) and an associated data file this morning about potential attendance data reporting issues in EMIS. It appears as though the file was flagging scenarios in which attendance data is not actually required to be reported in EMIS. No attendance data is required to be reported for students in the following example scenarios: open enrolled out students, expelled students who are not receiving education or services, or court-placed students. Note, these are just examples and not an exhaustive list.

The file is now invalidated in the Data Collector. We apologize for the inconvenience and confusion this has caused.

There are some scenarios where attendance is expected and is sometimes being missed. Examples include students placed out by the district (NP sent reason), students at a County Board of Developmental Disabilities, and students taking CCP courses. These are examples and not an exhaustive list.
