[Winter Pretest Deadline]

Business, Marketing, and Finance Systems
Field Testing - CLOSES 4/19

Business, Finance, and Marketing tests are being field tested this year. These newly written item banks are aligned to the updated content standards for the Business, Finance, and Marketing career fields. Field tests are longer than other WebXam tests, have an earlier testing deadline, and may not be retaken by most students in the current school year.

For more information about important upcoming testing dates and deadlines, be sure to review the WebXam Calendar<https://news.webxam.org/calendar/>.

Help create your tests – Be a Subject Matter Expert (SME)!

Recruitment is continuing for Agriculture & Environmental Systems during the 2024 school year. If you are an instructor for this career field in any of the courses, we need you to help us write test items for new course tests. We are recruiting for virtual item-writing workshops from October to May. The virtual format means less time away from the classroom, no need for a substitute, and the stipend is often paid directly to YOU! Be sure to check out the item-writing calendar<https://news.webxam.org/item-writing/calendars/> for your courses.

Test Plan Survey

As part of the planning process for item writing workshops, we ask instructors to identify which competencies are most important for each course. This year, we are writing new tests for Agricultural & Environmental Systems as well as a new Engineering and Science Technology pathway. We are also revising the current Personal Wellness test. If you teach any of these courses, please take the survey to help us determine what will be included in tests. You can receive a link to the survey by contacting Bridget McHugh<mailto:mchugh.159 at osu.edu>.

Recruitment for IT and Arts & Communication item-writing for 2024-2025

We will be creating new end-of-course tests for WebXam in the Information Technology and Arts & Communication career fields during the 2024-2025 school year. If you are interested in participating in the item writing process, please complete this sign-up form<https://go.osu.edu/ttp2024>. We’ll reach out for more detailed information later this year.

Teacher Review Workshops

CETE is no longer scheduling school-hosted Teacher Review workshops this semester. We will continue to host Teacher Review Workshops at CETE’s office on the West Campus of The Ohio State University. Please visit our Teacher Review<https://news.webxam.org/teacher-reviews/> webpage or email us<mailto:mailto:support at webxam.org> for more information.

WebXam Program Support (New Feature)

WebXam now supports program-centric management of WebXam user accounts and testing based on approved Career-Tech and FCS programs. Programs provide a key organizational structure for the effective management of teacher and student program memberships. Additionally, programs provide a layer of control to limit testing to only district-approved assessments for each program.

WebXam District Testing Coordinators (DTCs) and administrators are encouraged to navigate to the "Programs" menu in the WebXam sidebar to review and edit your district's program information. This step is crucial in verifying each program's teachers and courses. Clicking the "plus" button next to any program will show the current program data which may be edited by district administrators as needed.

Once your district's programs are configured, students will be seamlessly assigned to their respective programs during the student rostering process. If you have questions or need assistance, contact WebXam support<mailto:mailto:support at webxam.org>.

Student Logins and Test Activation

Just a reminder that student logins have changed. Instead of passwords, students are assigned time-limited access codes at the completion of the test activation process. Learn more about this change at the WebXam News link below.
