Derive Reading Diagnostic Result Level 2 Reports
The new LTRC-001 Derive Reading Diagnostic Result Level 2 Report will be available in the Report Collector within the next few days—possibly as soon as later today. The LTRC-001 provides districts the derived reading diagnostic results for the current school year. Districts need to ensure these results are reviewed as it will impact the current and future year report card K-3 measure.
Students will have one of the following Reading Diagnostic Result Codes determined based on current year reporting of Reading Diagnostic assessments, enrollment, and IEP/ALT assessment identification:

  *   Not Required: **
  *   Exempt: EX
  *   Required, not assessed: RN
  *   Required, not on-track: NO
  *   Required, on-track: AO
In reviewing statewide data to date, it appears that nearly half of the students in grades K-3 are receiving the RN (Required, not assessed) result. Some districts have very few students with this code, while others have nearly all of their students with this result.
Students who are missing a reading diagnostic assessment can be identified as having a Reading Diagnostic Result Code = RN and a Level 2 Result Code = LT0002. Districts should pay special attention to students with a Level 2 Result Code of LT0001 or LT0002. The Department was notified that some reading diagnostic assessment vendors are providing a date other than the test taken date in the vendor file back to the districts. Districts should ensure that the test taken date being reported for the reading diagnostic assessments is the actual test taken date. Reporting a date that is not the test taken date may result in the student being found as not assessed due to the assessment date being after the required administration date (LT0001).
