Public comment open for Ohio’s Learning Standards for English Language Arts
The Ohio Learning Standards for English Language Arts define grade level expectations for K-12 skills in reading, writing, speaking and listening, and language, to help ensure that all students are college and career ready in literacy. The Ohio Department of Education and Workforce is updating these standards to fully align with Governor DeWine’s ReadOhio initiative, Ohio’s Science of Reading policies, and Ohio’s List of High-Quality Instructional Materials for English Language Arts.
The Department seeks feedback on the proposed draft standards for kindergarten, first, and second grade English language arts.
