Good evening
The following was discussed.

Assessments
            Missing lists
If a student took the Alternate Assessment and ODE has them on the STR missing list - Do not add a SNR for these students. As long as the student has a test record for the
proper test for them to take you may ignore the missing list on the assessment type that they were not supposed to take

Student took a test as a higher grade level than their current grade level - Again if you can verify that the student took the proper test you can ignore the missing list

There are certain SNR that will remove the student from accountability that can be reports- i.e. student takes an Algebra course that spans over 2 years and they are not tested in year 1 report a SNR G and they will be removed from accountability.

The missing lists will most likely not be updated prior to the close of the manifest. They are trying to get them updated during the appeals process.

PS ELA missing lists for Spring are still being updated for the Spring assessments. They should be completed by the end of the week.

            AP Assessment
There is an AP computer Science course that had an AP test. There is no Assessment code for this. If you have students that took the course, report the score under AP08 code.
ODE will be creating an AP99 code for this in the future. This will be used for any AP assessment that does not have a specific AP code to report under.

PS IRN for courses.
There were JVSDs that were not aware that they needed to report PS students and courses that they are educating . ODE is removing the check for PS courses for JVSDs for this year.
David indicated that all PS students should be reported. IN-2 you do not need to report and ODE does not accept but ODE is expecting ALL PS students in the 3-5 range. In general if an
employee of your district is working with students the students should be reported.

Collections Closing on Wednesday.
Collections will be open till 11:59 p.m. If you submit by then, your data will be processed. Since the collections will be open till 11:59 ODE will not be processing data till early Thursday morning. The SDC will be closed all day Thursday to upload data.
Due to the processing of data on Thursday- any other manifest that is submitted on Thursday will not be processed until the weekend.
Data Appeals will open on Thursday. This came out in a Ohio Ed Updates earlier tonight.

Data Review and Appeal Windows Open for 2018 Student and Assessment Data

Beginning Thursday, July 19 through Friday, July 27, superintendents of traditional districts, community schools, JVSDs, STEM districts, and educational service centers may conduct the required review of their student and assessment data reported in EMIS during the 2018 school year, including assessment data for grades three through eight and end-of-course data. These data will not only affect many measures on the 2018 Ohio Report Cards, but will also impact the amount of state funding received by the district.

Superintendents are to signify whether these data are accurate as they complete the "2018 Report Card Data Review Part 1" form, which is within the Forms application in SAFE<http://links.govdelivery.com:80/track?type=click&enid=ZWFzPTEmbWFpbGluZ2lkPTIwMTgwNzE2LjkyNTk4NTMxJm1lc3NhZ2VpZD1NREItUFJELUJVTC0yMDE4MDcxNi45MjU5ODUzMSZkYXRhYmFzZWlkPTEwMDEmc2VyaWFsPTE3MzUzNTUyJmVtYWlsaWQ9d2lsc29uQG12ZWNhLm9yZyZ1c2VyaWQ9d2lsc29uQG12ZWNhLm9yZyZmbD0mZXh0cmE9TXVsdGl2YXJpYXRlSWQ9JiYm&&&102&&&https://safe.ode.state.oh.us/portal/>, due on Friday, July 27. Please note the "2018 Report Card Data Review Part 2" form will be available next month for data due in mid-August.

A superintendent who finds inaccurate data should submit an appeal by the July 27 deadline<http://links.govdelivery.com:80/track?type=click&enid=ZWFzPTEmbWFpbGluZ2lkPTIwMTgwNzE2LjkyNTk4NTMxJm1lc3NhZ2VpZD1NREItUFJELUJVTC0yMDE4MDcxNi45MjU5ODUzMSZkYXRhYmFzZWlkPTEwMDEmc2VyaWFsPTE3MzUzNTUyJmVtYWlsaWQ9d2lsc29uQG12ZWNhLm9yZyZ1c2VyaWQ9d2lsc29uQG12ZWNhLm9yZyZmbD0mZXh0cmE9TXVsdGl2YXJpYXRlSWQ9JiYm&&&103&&&http://education.ohio.gov/Topics/Data/EMIS/Reporting-Responsibilities/Data-Appeals>, using the appropriate appeal in the Forms application in SAFE<http://links.govdelivery.com:80/track?type=click&enid=ZWFzPTEmbWFpbGluZ2lkPTIwMTgwNzE2LjkyNTk4NTMxJm1lc3NhZ2VpZD1NREItUFJELUJVTC0yMDE4MDcxNi45MjU5ODUzMSZkYXRhYmFzZWlkPTEwMDEmc2VyaWFsPTE3MzUzNTUyJmVtYWlsaWQ9d2lsc29uQG12ZWNhLm9yZyZ1c2VyaWQ9d2lsc29uQG12ZWNhLm9yZyZmbD0mZXh0cmE9TXVsdGl2YXJpYXRlSWQ9JiYm&&&104&&&https://safe.ode.state.oh.us/portal/>:

  * 2018 Data Appeal for Spring State Grades 3-8 Assessments
  * 2018 Data Appeal for Spring End-of-Course Assessments
  * 2018 Data Appeal for Fall 3rd Grade Reading
  * 2018 Data Appeal for Student Data

The superintendent, EMIS coordinator, and superintendent designee all have access to fill out the data appeal forms. The forms are not officially submitted to the Department until the superintendent approves the form and completes the process.

Districts are encouraged to submit data appeals in advance of the July 27 deadline. Districts that have appeals submitted and approved early will have more time to resubmit corrected data.

Please note this is the only opportunity to appeal 2018 student data. A district's own student data will not be subject to appeal during the 2018 funding data appeals. Districts are encouraged to leverage all funding and report card-related reports available to review and assess the accuracy of their student data before the deadline. The funding data appeals will provide an opportunity to appeal cross-district data (such as community school funding flags and overlapping enrollment).

For answers to questions regarding the data appeals, please contact the Office of Data Quality<mailto:dataquality at education.ohio.gov>.

Let me know if you have any questions.

Thanks

Karen
